Congratulations to all the recipients of the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs Center for Women Veterans Trailblazer Award.
I am humbled to be standing amongst you and so absolutely thrilled to receive this news on 31 March 2025, the last day of Women's History Month!
The Center is charged with conducting outreach to women Veterans. Everything they do, they do with Veteran Women in mind and they have created the hashtag BringWomenVeteransHome2VA.
CWV Trailblazers are women Veterans who have served and separated from their branch of service and who now make an impact in their communities by enhancing the lives of sister Veterans, Veteran families, Veteran caregivers, and survivors.
The Trailblazers are doing this work on the ground, making sure that women Veterans identify as Veterans, know about, and are accessing their benefits. They are also strong advocates and activists who are willing to help bring women Veterans home.
Impact may be a single event or action or may be demonstrated over a period of time in one or more of the following areas:
Education
Employment
Entrepreneurship
Homelessness
Legal
Mental Health and Wellness
I was nominated by Army General (Retired) Mari Eder to represent the area of entrepreneurship. Thank You General for the support and advocacy.
