50 Years Beyond: The Vietnam Veteran Experience

The Virginia War Memorial is proud to have collaborated with two women veterans on the new exhibition “50 Years Beyond,” which opened on January 27, 2023. Professional photographer, Laura Hatcher (U.S. Navy, retired) and videographer Pamela Vines (U.S. Army, retired) traveled across the state with Memorial staffers to photograph and document the experiences of Virginia’s Vietnam Veterans over the past 50 years. Their photographs and footage were used to create a comprehensive experience for viewers of the exhibit and will be shared alongside candid photos of 50 of Virginia’s veterans during their time in Vietnam. Check out this special behind-the-scenes look at the creation of the exhibition, and the stories of Virginia's Vietnam Veterans.
