Getting Started In Studio Lighting
Join me in my Old Town, Alexandria photography studio and learn what gear is best for creating your own studio. This is a hands-on class that provides photographers an opportunity to learn how to set up various types of lighting equipment to create portraits in a studio setting.
Think sandbox with toys, and I'm inviting you to play with my gear before you buy your own.
Students will learn how to set up and configure the lighting and modifiers, and briefly practice photographing each other to see in real time how all the equipment works together to produce a portrait.
Topics include:
- Equipment overview of camera, lenses, lights, and controlling light with slaves, triggers or sync cords.
- Also, backdrops, modifiers such as softboxes, stripboxes and VFlats, etc.
Come away from this class with a solid foundation for creating your own studio lighting set up.
This class is sponsored by Capital Photography Center periodically throughout the year.
Alternatively, if you prefer a one-on-one version of this class you can purchase mentorship sessions here.
